Self-Portrait Workshop for Teens
What’s beneath your surface? The contest for this year’s teen summer reading program (grades 6-12) is to create a self portrait, but teens may use whatever portrait style best expresses something about them, whether realistic, abstract, expressionist or surreal. The objective is a representation of character—what you choose to reveal or conceal about yourself in this portrait. Teens may enter in four categories: photography, drawing, painting, or collage.
If you don’t know how to get started, come to our workshop! Please bring a mirror (freestanding if possible), and we will provide art supplies and guidance! You must sign up for this workshop: Call 818 238-5589, and leave your name and telephone number, or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
